Before we got here, our bathroom had this great floral wallpaper.  We’re not exactly sure how old it is… it’s not completely original to the house, since there at one point was a big window above where the tub is…

But unfortunately that wallpaper was in the way of the plumbing… and apparently it was also load bearing… and supported most of the plaster on the ceiling.  Out it came (along with most of the plaster in the ceiling).

While it’s gone from the walls in the bathroom now…

It’s still going to have a place in the house…

Gloria and I put some pieces I saved into some 8 x 10 matted frames (from pottery barn… there was a sale on their gallery frames a few weeks ago)… and who would have thought… apparently the wallpaper subconsciously inspired our paint color choice (Martha Stewart Beach grass).  [NB – while I like the look of the chunky pb frames, they are very impractical… having two stupid pull out hooks instead of a wire.  That means two perfectly leveled and placed hooks are needed, instead of one in the center to catch a very forgiving wire like most frames.  The bottom frame got the super precise treatment… but I got sick of that real quick and added a wire to the top frame.  Pottery barn… can you get on fixing that?)

Here we see it up close next to the paint…

…and not so up close from the kitchen looking past the fridge and the stove.
